I would assume Cotto is getting roughly the same deal Floyd got from GBP, so GBP will likely just put on the undercard for a fee.

This is what's pathetic about Boxing. Before Cotto announced this fight, who has really heard of or seen this Trout fight??? And he's a champion? Trout beat who for this alphabet title? These fighters today get so protected, and guided, taking no risks to find some title belt laying around, beat some no-name, then claim to be a champion, and seek that ONE big money fight. That's not credible; that's pathetic. Of course this Cotto/Trout fight won't be PPV. Nobody knows or heard of Trout. Cotto's team say he 'has the unique opportunity to say NO to big fights, because he's a big draw himself'. Really? Then how come you aren't big enough to sell a PPV fight against a guy named 'Catfish', I mean Trout, whatever his name is? Roach called it, saying Cotto will take an easy fight after Mayweather cause that's how he rolls. He would have made 3x the money losing to Pacquiao again at 150. You want Manny? You have to come down. Pacquiao already knows he doesn't do well at 154, where he was when he destroyed Margarito; it's too big a jump. Those naturally at 154 come in the night of the fight at 165-170, way too big for Manny. So Cotto hunts down a no name with a belt. Marquez tried to do the same thing, out pricing himself out for a July date with a no name champion named 'Genital' or 'Gesta', whatever his name is. Promoters recognized they couldn't pay Marquez' price tag and sell a fight against a no name that has a title for beating someone we also don't know. That's what's with amateur Boxing and the Olympics. Fighters are skipping most amateur fights to turn pro and get a hand picked career to a payday. We have TOO many divisions, TOO many alphabet titles, TOO many boxing organizations, and TOO many guys calling themselves 'champion'. We need to go back to old school, have HALF the divisions, ONE boxing organization, and ONE champion per division, followed by a TOP 10 in each division. Then we'll know who legitimately is the best. Want to be the best, be the champion? Then beat the guys ranked ahead if you, earn a title shot, then beat the champion. That's CREDIBLE! And like Leonard, Hagler, and Hearns used to say, beat the best of the best, and the money will take care of itself.

I don't like catch weights at all but it's kinda funny Cotto wanted a fight with Margarito at 150 and STILL FOUGHT AT A CATCH WEIGHT and that was ok to his dumb fans but now with Pac it isn't. Talk about double standards with them.

He fought margarita at a catch weight but margarita was going UP in weight from his previous fight of 150, so throw that catchweight garbage out the door. Miguel didn't make him go DOWN in weight, which is a whole lot different.

Margarita fought manny at 150 the fight before so it isnt outragous that Cotto requested that.
I doubt manny even agreed to a 150 weight for Cotto.
