He also mentioned in that faceoff how he wanted to fight Cotto. I think he's got a better chance of fighting Cotto at 154 than fighting Floyd 160. A win against Chavez would certainly better his chances at landing that fight. I don't think Martinez would have an issue going into MSG either.

Floyd would get no credit for fighting Maravilla at 150, even though Maravilla was the one who mentioned the weight.

Cotto. He, himself, has said he's looking for big $ fights to close out his career. Other than Canelo (Who will most likely face Mayweather if he doesn't fight Cotto first), what other big $ fights are out there for him? Martinez coming off of a win against the undefeated son of a Mexican legend would certainly sell. He's also made it clear he has no issue going down to 154.

The statement was pretty funny, wanting to prove himself as the best fighter pound for pound by fighting a fighter two divisions south. What about fighting Ward, Froch or Dirrell?

That being said a Mayweather v Martinez match is what I'd like to see. If Floyd could get a win over Martinez at Middleweight he strengthens his status as an ATG.

I'd like to see this fight. I think Sergio's style is all wrong for Floyd tho. But again , we're talking about Floyd Mayweather here , he always finds a way to win .
