I haven't followed the kid at all, I usually wait till they fight someone who fights back. But I'll take your word (OP) for it and I think YOU should manage him!!!! I'd guess Goosen waited for the best moment to make a move, I see he's boxing some one who rarely mixes it up and doesn't show much power but has a title! Maybe he is is doing right by the kid, how old is Ward? Less than 26? Pretty young guy theres no hurry in boxing as to the business. From what I've seen Goosen does a good job, has real money behind him and moves slowly and cautiously, which is a wise move in boxing.

I still vote for YOU after all you seem to know this kid pretty well!!!!

and it isnt even close.. Most people dont even know there was a super six..

Golden Boy would have Lampley and company ****riding Ward to the point where people would think Ward was the greatest fighter ever..

I mean look at bum ass jermaine taylor, Lampley was pretty much worshipping him.. As well as Cotto and every other HBO favored fighter.

I mean Berto has had several fights on HBO for goodness sake and he hasnt fought ANYONE.. And I GUARANTEE you Broner AND Berto makes more money than Ward per fight, fighting bums while Ward fights elites..

ITS ABOUT MONEY PEOPLE.. Golden Boy and Haymon would fill Wards pockets
      better than Goosen..

I think you should try to rephrase the question or something, the thibgs that you just outlined about broner and berto were all Al Hamons doing

If Andre Ward was with Top Rank he would be a bigger star....but then again Bob Arum probably would never have let him do the Super Six. Too risky and no in-house fights.

If anything he should give Goosen a raise.

no way in hell would arum or goldenboy let him enter that sh#t. the SS was so friggin legit. i miss it. history will remember it favorably, especially if ward goes down as a great. it will be recognized as the force that stamped him onto the map. i won't jump the gun on that yet, as he's got a ton left to prove.

goosen is great for the fans, not for maximizing ward's earning potential.

he doesn't have that kind of muscle and those sort of finances.

Well, Golden Boy let Abner Mares enter the bantamweight tournament. And in general they have a history of matching their guys tough...look at Jorge Linares, James Kirkland and Amir Khan.

Canelo Alvarez is the only one that stands out as getting built up with easier fights.

I have no idea whether toprank or GBP would have let Ward into the s6, but if you consider that they have a ton of other stars, they might have been less concerned with André Ward. Hell they might even have let him fight overseas.

Good point you made earlier regarding Ward reaching the ceiling as far as earning potential at Goosens. Very possible.

matching them tough is one thing

putting them into a tournament with a bunch of fighters signed to other promotors with no upside if you lose is something entirely different.

the intent with big fights / tough opponents for the promotors is to lock up both sides of the deal. if you fighter loses, you get a rematch clause, or an option on the next fight of the winner, etc.
