I wonder if they fought now (ie. close to natural weights at 175'ish pounds) who would win?

Atlantic City, NJ (October 25, 2010) -- On Friday, October 22, reigning World Boxing Council (WBC) middleweight champion Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez and three-time world champion Paul "The Punisher" Williams went to the scales for the Official WBC 30-day Weigh-In. Martinez weighing in at 176, from his camp in Oxnard, CA and from Wash., DC, Williams weighed 162 pounds. The contract weight for the Saturday, November 20 bout at Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall is 157-pounds.

Sergio is hungrier. At 38, he's a never-has-been, really hasn't got much to show for his career so far. JCC got his undefeated record and confidence to lose but he doesn't seem hungry or focussed in the gym. I still see Jr pummelling Martinez to a KO if he makes the weight (a repeat of Margarito fight).

i have a feeling jccj won't come in weight and pay for the penalty to see if martinez wants to fight.

Martinez is a small MW. Why do people still question this? When he stepped on HBO's unofficial scales on fight night against Barker, he was 165.

Martinez being a small MW has been overstated for years. He has been campaigning above Jr MW for almost 3 years now, his height/reach fall in line with the average MW's and he's built pretty solid. Also, he has carried his power, speed, chin, stamina up to MW. It's not like he walks around in the mid 160's, the guy probably walks around at 180+. He's rated the best @ 160 for a reason, he is the best Middle Weight.

Jr on the other hand is probably about the biggest you can get at Middle without having to move up and yes, he normally has an advantage of being supremely bigger than his opponent on fight night.
