After all the beatchng with catchweights, I appreciate a Champion that says: MY LIMIT IS 168, and that is that.

Oakland's fine, I don't have a problem there. It's Andre Ward vs. Chad Dawson, it has to be in one of their hometowns to draw anyone and Ward would draw more in Oakland than Dawson would anywhere.

I'd have preferred a catchweight for this fight, and Dawson deserves immense credit for going down to 168 for this. I can't blame Ward for wanting to stay at 168, but he can't expect the credit he would have gotten otherwise for this fight unless Dawson looks amazing come fight night.

Exactly! Dawson said 168 and thats that. If he wasnt happy then he should not have accepted and tried to find someone in his division to fight. Ward calls the shots right now and Dawson knows it thats why he agreed so he should stop his complaining and be grateful for the oppurtunity

i totally disagree with that, i think there is too many divisions as it is.

              Wauw!

Why does Ward always get his way? Unbeliveable that he wouldn't even concede a measly 2 lbs. Dawson must have gotten the larger share of the purse or else he is a(n even bigger) fool.

Ward is the american Sven Ottke. Only worse.

Instead of giving Dawson credit, it seems like some people are using this situation as a reason to hate on Ward.

even though, i can't see why andre ward, insists on fighting in oakland, calif. all the time, all in all, i hope that the gamble, that chad dawson is taking, by moving down from 175 to 168 to fight the best fighter closest to his division, is a good one...
chad dawson vs. andre ward, in their respective primes, is a throwback fight like the great fights of the 80's, involving hagler, srl, hearns, duran, benitez, etc, where the best fought the best, and elevated their status, with great fights...right now, ward vs dawson, is what it is, strictly a fight fan's fight, and we should applaud that, in an era where superstar fighters, are more concerned with keeping their status intact, with easy $ fights...hopefully, chad dawson vs. andre ward, can turn into a rivalry that transcends the sport, and becomes big business...
