If Chad Dawson beats Ward he is fighter of the year imo and p4p top 5

It would be good to see Dawson win, especially since he's letting Ward have all the advantages. I can't imagine he'll receive fair officiating in Oakland, though.

If he can overcome the disadvantages and beat Ward, Chad would be a very good choice for the fighter of the year.

perhaps if he just missed a bunch of punches and got a BS decision like calzaghe or taylor, but dawson really beat hopkins. he beat him convincingly which nobody else has done since RJJ in 94'. thats quite an accomplishment.

add ward to that, a top p4p fighter in his prime. 2 lineal titles.. thats hard to beat.

btw ward beat froch in 2011 which was the main reason he won FOTY that year. dawson is his first fight this year and as great a win as it would be i dont think that alone qualifies him for FOTY.

Hopkins lost both fights – end of. He didn’t do enough to win the fight on any of those occasions.

Beating Hopkins is a decent achievement but imo its nothing to brag about especially for someone who is as skilled and as fast as dawson. Now if someone like Froch was to beat Hopkins then I would be slightly more impressed because I would expect Hopkins style to be difficult for him.

Imo if Dawson beats ward while at the same time coming down in weight that would be a major boost for him.

Dawson beating Ward means a lot by itself, beating B-Hop was nice but it's already been done lol. It was a somewhat even fight where most were saying that Dawson's youth and physical attributes would make the difference.

TBH, I'd be more inclined to pick Jr. if he beats Martinez, or Josesito if he beats Canelo.

This is what I've been saying. And I'm not a Dawson fan at all.
