This has to be somehow illegal. Signing a deal with the athlete before they have even finished competing in the Olympics?

You have to wonder if his team has any idea what the top end, in terms of income, is as a professional boxer.
It's impossible that he does not know how much money a star fighter makes, since he has already been courted by the big promotional companies. That only makes this mess harder to understand.

And I fear you're right. This guy should be fighting Broner and Gamboa after a few years, whereas this AIBA nonsense will have him in uncompetitive six-rounders until he's 30.

Well, I feel like I'll never get to see how this kid turns out now, he's going to fight nobodies until the next Olympics and try to win again. I understand why he's doing it, but it was a huge mistake.

I'm going to say it now, he is not going to become what we all thought/hoped he would.

Can not believe that the Ukrainian fighters signed with this AIBA pro garbage especially after Khytrov and Gvozdyk have been robbed by them. AIBA wants to be the sole governing body for pro boxing and looking at these Olympics how damn scary a thought is that. They're horribly corrupt and incompetent.

Well we don't know how long the contracts are for. Lomachenko is only 24 so hopefully its only a year or two and they all see what a joke the APB is. Also hope it fails miserably.

I think we can already forget about him. If he made this big of a blunder, i can see him make even worse ones down the road. He is going to end up like Calz: fights nobody his whole career only to beat Broner when both are 40. SMH
