no I'm not. if he said he was thinking of retiring then I can live with that. I wouldn't say anything. He never once said he was going to retire and made excuses that it wouldnt be a good fight and gave up the belts. and hell he wasn't even going to fight vitali and the only reason he fought him isbecause johnson got injured.

I liked watching Lewis fight. For a true SuperHeavy, he was athletic and could put together punches.

He is responsible for his own "questionable" legacy, mosty because he disresepcted fight fans, and the entire sport, by occasionally showing-up looking like he was sleepy, bored, disinterested and cautious. And sometimes, fat.

He was born in Britain, lived in Canada from a young age until he won the Gold medal for Canada in the Olympics, he then returned to live in Britain and took up his birth right to fight as a British man.

        His mother is Jamaican,

I can see your point but I have to disagree with some of it, I dont think he disrespected fans in any way.

He has a laid back attitude, some people do, as for being fat at times, yes he carried too much weight at times but I dont think he was ever fat, he was always fairly toned, heavyweights especially big heavyweights are like that!

I do agree with what you are getting at in that Lewis never did anything to make us like him outside of the ring, but saying that he never did any harm either unlike many of his peers, isn't it better to be boring out of the ring and keep your nose clean?

          After they are role models!!!

Important to note that Lennox's boxing (amateur) was developed in Canada. His Canada links were severed entirely when he won the Gold in Soeul. This happened, in part, because the Canadian public were rightfully pissed that he began talking about "Jamaica" to a CBC reporter within minutes of winning that Gold.

it's funny because I remember watching it, I'm from toronto, and me and my buddies were laughing hysterically.

I can't remember which fight it was, but after being bored of being British, he started talking like a Rasta in an interview after the fight.

Lewis would have beaten Ruiz in boring match. He's too smart for the clinching Ruiz, too tall, too strong. It would be so boring.

Now, Byrd, I think he should have fought. After all, Byrd was 1 and 1 against the Klitchko brothers.

His legacy does end with a question mark. He was losing by points to the older Klitchko and was fortunate to win by cuts. But hey, a cut = TKO.

He should have allowed a rematch with him. But, Lennox is smart. He didn't have to. He was the champ already.

i dont care how one sided his fights with ruiz and byrd would have been. if you have a mandatory, FACE HIM. keep the belts, add another name to ur list of victims, make a quick and easy buck, and THEN look for a money fight. hell, if lewis fought byrd and ruiz, he would doubtlessly have knocked them out and ended any talk of them being contenders or champions and we wouldnt have to put up with the duck and the bum today.
