Tbh that is the best and the best conditioned I've ever seen Cotto so I'm not entirely sure in that aspect. For me personally no version of Cotto beats any version of Floyd.

So I think both fighters in there prime would produced the same outcome of there first clash. Reason being Floyds stamina was impeccable at that stage of his career. However had Cotto had the trainer he's working with now, Floyd would've been in a bit of a pickle. lol I believe this trainer knows how to bring the best out of Cotto
            Good post.

            I agree.

I dont even think this fight was even close or in question...don't know what makes people think a younger Cotto beats a younger Floyd who's in a better weight class... It wasnt Froch vs Bute type of domination but it was damn near a shutout in most eyes...Cotto was conpetitive you could say..he belonged...but it was clear, never in doubt.

Some people arent even convinced Cotto won the Shane fight...

Cotto might win if he hits Floyd with them Zab Judah low blows a bunch of times. <__<

prime for prime, it's tough to pick anyone in this generation against floyd. pac and cotto would be good fights for sure but i think that floyd still wins.

I believe the Cotto that fought Floyd was the best equipped Cotto to have a go at beating Floyd. The more crude, head first Cotto would've got picked apart by Floyd. I don't see any Cotto beating any Floyd, not because he's a bad fighter, but because if he slugs it he gets picked apart, if he boxes it he gets whipped.

Physically and mentally, he was definitely not in his prime at 140. The dude was getting rocked by bums, it wasn't until 147, where Cotto's chin wasn't a liability.

The thing ppl dont get is cotto is now a much smarter fighter than he was in his prime. he's much more cerebral, and his team is much more calculated. I dunno hoe much that did for him against Floyd this year, but it definitely helped. prime cotto probably wouldn't have fought the same fight. so there is really no need to make the comparison.
