All time? It's pretty hard to look past Ali. Some of what he said was dumb and irrelevant, but most of it was good and he was the first to really make it popular in the sport.
    malignaggi is not a moron.

Tbh, no one has really been that good at it since Ali. He was a regular sound bite. And obviously, had such a gift of gab it made him an unlikely political figure, transcending the sport.

Now I know some might say how can you not say Iron Mike after Muhammad, but I always got the impression that part of the media's fascination with him was that he was like an animal or beast that they were surprised was literate, and not that they were really interested in anything thought provoking from him off the cuff.

I disagree with you on the bold. There have been plenty of good trash talkers since Ali. They may not have been as charismatic with what they said and actions but there have been plenty of good ones.

Why was he an unlikely political figure to you? I mean he took a stance on injustices and spoke loudly about them and stood with the other top black athletes of that era on those issues. I mean Jim Brown was more of a political figure than Ali was just that Ali was more famous.

Haye and Froch make me laugh with some of their pre-fight talk. The GOAT would have to be Ali or Tyson.

Good call on Haugen. He and Paz had a trash talking battle during a phone interview with KO or Ring Magazine before their first fight. Anybody remember that?
