@ Feroth.....I hear ya - happening more than ever in boxing now obviously...its clearly a $$$ thing. having a bigger fighter lose all that weight and beatup on opponents with smaller frames creates a "buzz" for the fighter, racking up all of the KO's...the media loves KO's...KO's = easier way to gain recognition for a higher-paying fight. Promoters/managers/matchmakers know this and will try their luck and hold back on their fighters moving to the correct weight class where the fighter should be fighting...by the time they make it there, if they lose its all good because they at least got several decent paydays along the way - and that one sizeable payday for fighting a "top" guy or just a tough buy @ the proper weight class. plus if they lose they can always say - 'hey, ive never fought @ this weight before -they were too big"

Its funny cuz ur right, they beat up on smaller guys and look great, if they lose they can say they're drained and need to move up, if they move up and lose its cuz the other guys were too big lOl ppl just ignore the fact half the time. Talent is only one component needed to be a fighter, of any sort. Moral fiber is another, depth of character... and so on. Rios needs to leave out a lot of the MFs and SOBs when he speaks as he only shows his own lacks, as in respect, civility, culture...
