So after looking at the way fights are scored, i'm surprised to see that its not scored the way i thought it was:
So basically the judge with the lowest and highest scores are dropped and the 3 remaining judges's scores are averaged to get a score for 1 round
2. SCORING METHOD
2.1. Per round, each Individual Score is counted.
2.2. The scores in each round are the average of three Judges’ score combination which are the closest
together called as Similar Scores.
2.3. For each round, the results of the Individual Scores are calculated separately for the red Boxer and
the blue Boxer.
2.4. If at the end of a round more than one Similar Score appears, the Trimmed Mean calculation will
apply. The Trimmed Mean is when the highest and lowest Individual Scores are taken out and the
average of the remaining three Individual Scores is counted.

And a count back is
This is str8 from the AIBA website
4. DECISIONS
4.1 The Winner is the Boxer with the highest Total Score.
4.2 In case of a tie in the Final Scores:
4.2.1. First, delete the lowest and highest Judges’ total scores in each red and blue corner.
Then, the winner will be determined by the total scores of the remaining three Judges of
each red and blue corner.
4.2.1. Second, in case of a tie after the above process, all five (5) Judges shall be asked to
press the button once for the Boxer who has won. The decision is made by the majority
of the panel of these five (5) Judges

Not when a possible mistake it appealed, AIBA wont even listen to the appeal because its not "special" enough?
LAst 2 days 4 guys have been robbed and sent home and today is only half finished
Yes, the points scoring system sucks. But those are the rules. I don't think the Ukrainian has grounds for appeal on that basis. If you don't like the rules, don't compete. I'd agree with an appeal if it was a blatant robbery, but it wasn't. The Joshua and Jap-Kaz fights were far more controversial.
But yes, AM boxing needs an overhaul

Well any time its close or even not so close it will be given to the brits. That has been the case so far, they are the host nation and I guess its "good" for the olympics when they win...
I've seen throughtout brits getting boosted scores for no reason.
But that's always the case.....host nations get a boost

I don't know who I would have awarded the win to. It was close. But Ogogo was blocking a lot of shots with his gloves, and landed the more cleaner eye catching shots. I thought the Ukrainian landed at a higher rate, but by amateur standards I don't believe I'd call a lot of them scoring blows.
