And that is not how amateur boxing is scored, please stop posting
Amateur boxing is scored on clean and sharp punching. A punch can only score in a very short time frame after it has landed, therefore combo's are likely to be ineffective. That's why the best amateur boxers are the ones with good jabs, and a strong right cross. Those are easy punches to score and catch the eye far more than scrappy, cuffing, inside punches.

Yes. More scrappy, cuffing, inside punches.

Landing doesn't necessarily mean that they score. A punch that grazes the top of the head lands, but may not always be judged as a scoring blow.

The system is terrible, but that's the way it is at the moment.

The fighter thats the most punches wins, thats how it works, whether a huge head knocker or a light tap doesnt matter

So you had him landing more punches automatically means you had him winning

Sorry but i don't think you understand the Olympic system,it's not like Pro boxing...

There are 5 judges and a point is scored only when 3 judges press their button to register a scoring punch, within one second of each other. A punch must land with the white part of the glove to score and land with sufficient force (the decision of the judge). Little touches will not be scored, you have to put some force behind the punches, stepping away and throwing punches will also not be scored thats why Savon lost last night.

Its a very difficult system, throwing the most punches means nothing, it is the way in which you land that maters most.

The system has been changed thats not how its scored anymore.

                1. KEY FEATURES OF SCORING SYSTEM
1.1. The scoring system is based on the Individual Score.
1.2. There is no “one second window” for three Judges to score at the same time.
1.3. No running score during the bout, only running time.
1.4. Individual Scores of each Judge are displayed during the break.
                1.5. No computerized Judges’ evaluation.
                2.

                SCORING METHOD
2.1. Per round, each Individual Score is counted.
2.2. The scores in each round are the average of three Judges’ score combination which are the closest
                together called as Similar Scores.
2.3. For each round, the results of the Individual Scores are calculated separately for the red Boxer and
                the blue Boxer.
2.4. If at the end of a round more than one Similar Score appears, the Trimmed Mean calculation will
apply. The Trimmed Mean is when the highest and lowest Individual Scores are taken out and the
average of the remaining three Individual Scores is counted.

                3. WARNING
3.1 Warnings are not linked to the Individual Scores but considered with 2 points awarded to the opponent
                in the Total Score.

                4. DECISIONS
4.1 The Winner is the Boxer with the highest Total Score.
4.2 In case of a tie in the Final Scores:
4.2.1. First, delete the lowest and highest Judges’ total scores in each red and blue corner.
Then, the winner will be determined by the total scores of the remaining three Judges of
                each red and blue corner.

4.2.1. Second, in case of a tie after the above process, all five (5) Judges shall be asked to
press the button once for the Boxer who has won. The decision is made by the majority
of the panel of these five (5) Judges

that is similar to what i said, however instead they are now working out the average, which makes the system even more ****ty than it was before.

I stand corrected however like i said it doesn't matter who THROWS THE MOST PUNCHES, it is the way in which you land..

Backing away and inside scruffy fighting is not often awarded, sadly.

The system is still the same to some extent, minus the one second window
