Exactly right !!! , these guys only see the numbers , weight drained is about not the numbers but the effect of those numbers and you dont know until fight time .

Dawson still volunteered to do it, now granted WARD could have offered to come up to fight Dawson instead, but then people would be asking this question on how Dawson is going to fight a BLOATED Ward.

Catchweight would have been the best option.

I voted none. Dawson wanted the fight at 168 and Cotto did not have to sign the contract if he could not comfortably make 145.

you think during the first round of negotiations he just said ok ward i'll do whatever you want! he obviously tried to get the fight above 168 but failed. the end result is the same. both drained. dawson just gave away his hand before the negotiations began because he's an idiot. cotto knew he wasn't walking away from a huge payday against pac. dawson knew as well but he gave up all his leverage before negotiating.

I know that Dawson asked for the Ward fight, Cotto did not ask for the Pacman fight.

I know Dawson also said he'd come down to 168 an official weight class. Cotto was originally offered 143 by Pacman but refused to go any lower than 145.

Cotto was forced to take the fight at 145, Dawson called out Ward & even offered to come to 168, not the same, like at all.

Pacquiao did not need Cotto to come down to 145 to defend his own title. It's a wait and see with Dawson and Ward. With Cotto Pacquiao fans knew Pacquiaos team was trying to drain Cotto.
