Full credit for fighting the 2 best fighters of his generation though he failed miserably & credit for beating a faded but still dangerous Tyszu but what did he do for his other 40 odd fights? Or should I say when they was both prime with Witter calling him out.

Witter only ever lost to Bradley & Alexander in his prime so no shame there either.

Some very knowledgeable posters here. I think Witter would have beat Hatton up quite badly in his prime. Hatton was quite overrated as it was, and to add Witter's style was all wrong for him anyway. Witter has been past his best for many years now, and is getting worse each time out, having said that this fight would still generate huge interst in UK.

I agree with the points you make about Hatton.

Even though Witter gave Bradley a close fight i think by that time he was past his best. His style was only really effective for a young fighter with sharp reflexes. It's a real shame as i think he could have done so much better had he got the chance to fight hatton and other fighters earlier.

If he hadn't lost to Pacquiao the way he did, I'd say he could've given it one last great effort at avenging his loss to Floyd.

Majority of Khan fans are imbeciles. Hatton was all kinds of wrong for Khan, he would of brutally slaughtered him & so would of Witter for that matter.
I'm not sure about win but I certainly think Witter had a style that would of gave Ricky fits.
Light welter? He only had two fights at welter.

Hatton held so much in the Tszyu fight, he would have got disqualified in any other country. It's just because he was at home that he got away with that. Thats the worst display of hugging ever witnessed in a British ring.

And Tszyu was an aging world famous boxer, willing to fight Hatton in his hometown and give him a good payday. Doesn't mean Hatton wasn't scared of Witter. He knew Witter's style would be too much to handle, and he felt the risk was greater than the reward. But Witter and Hatton, at the time, were the top 2 in the world at 140.

Hatton can't really be forgiven for ducking his most dangerous opponent at the time.

Hard to imagine what Hatton would be like if he did make a come back, been inactive for awhile and doesn't live the healthiest life outside the ring. I hear hes in decent shape right now but wether or not he can get back into fighting shape im not so sure.
Im a big Hatton fan but im not so sure id like to see him in the ring again to be honest.

If he was to come back though i think a fighter like Witter is what he should be looking at. Witter has seen his better days, but with it being a fight involving 2 domestic rivals with bad blood it could sell well over here.

If Hatton and Witter had fought a few years back though when they were both rivals, i would of picked Hatton in a ugly but pretty clear win.
