  • i think he was his best at welterweight, but then he reached his peak skill level too late in his career- his early 30s.

But the Pacquiao at featherweight was still a beast that would give mayweather a fight at 130.

    • I can't see Pacquiao at 130 giving Mayweather hell. Maybe some pressure. But I've never seen Mayweather struggle against pressure except against Cotto. And that's cause Cotto has a good jab. And I don't like how Pacquiao throws his jab. He throws them from his elbows horizontally then lunges in with that straight left causing him to be off balance. I really don't see Mayweather not taking advantage of that. The check hook that Mayweather uses is specifically for a fighter like Pacquiao at 130. I can see the famous Pacquiao hair flop as he gets countered with the straight right. And trust me, Pacquiao does get countered with the straight right a lot.

      • Pac was a winner even at 130, even if he has improved since then, he had no problem winning back then anyway against all comers, no body really seeing the final bell and yes Pac would be the best Floyd fought, so yes would give Floyd hell. Floyd acknowledged Pac was the best fighter way back then if you took floyd out of the equation.
He did afterall beat Morales, Barrera, JMM fighters who are better than anyone FLoyd has fought at 130. So Pac is favourite against FLoyd.

So would Floyd be able to beat him, who knows for sure, only guess. But who would win now is all anyone needs to be concerned with realluy.

        • i dont think so. ive always said 130's floyd was the best floyd. his offense was dynamic and he wouldve made pac pay for his mistakes... pac would ALWAYS have a punchers chance, especially with a counter left hook, but at 130's pac wasnt on floyd's level....

pac had a window of opportunity, and that was in 2008-2009. especially after the cotto victory. now that window is closed.

          • If Morales worked him at 130, after a trilogy with Barrera, then Floyd would've put him to rest. Dude (FMJ) was waaaay too fast at 130, and he had power...unlike he does now at 147 and 154 (speaking in terms of power).

pac didnt look great against jmm, thats a myth. e looked better, but far from great. he struggled in that fight. in fact most of the press had him losing if im not mistaken.

Having a triology with someone as good as Barrera means Morales gained a lot of experience from it nothing else. Dont make out he is shop worn when 2 great fighters fight each other in barrera and morales.

Floyd has proven nothing at 130! Pac would be favourite against Floyd at 130 as he has fought the better people, Pac was proven, Floyd wasnt. It dont matter how good you think Floyd looked against boxers who werent as good as Morales, barrera and JMM.
You put your money on the man who had been there and done it, ie Pac. Saying FLoyd would have beat Morales is deluded. Its like saying Pac would beat FLoyd, as Pac would have crushed Corrales in 2 rounds.

He showed about as many skills as he ever has in that fight, and fought a guy who has absolutely owned him otherwise dead even. Both Pacquiao and Marquez were on the top of their games in the second fight.
