  • pacquiao would definitely land on him, and he didn't get that tentative back then, he was just an absolute monster that pushed through e.g morales 1/marquez 1, morales has an iron chin, even in the first fight morales was hurt to the body and head on a couple of occassions, at 130 i could see pacquiao taking floyd out with a single punch

it's alot of determination from a fast, athletic, huge puncher vs an alright chinned fighter

i'd have my money on manny and be very confident

    • absolutely not a chance in hell. pacs only and best chance has always been at 147. at 130, pac gets a pretty one sided beating, without doing much at all in the fight except getting hit

        • "Giving floyd hell" is a relative term.

Cotto gave floyd hell, won no more than 4 rounds. Zab gave floyd hell, knocked him down, won no more than 4 rounds. Castillo gave floyd HELL and won 5 rds. AUgustus gave floyd hell, won 3 rds. So yes, Can manny win 3 or 4 rds against floyd, of course he could.

I can't imagine winning 3-4 rds being "hell" for any other fighter.

          • Raw, unpolished Pac vs dynamic, combination-throwing Floyd? Come on now.

Pacquiao at 130 was not raw and unpolished. That was when he was nearly his best, not quite there but close enough. He was definitely in his prime.

but Pacquiao at featherweight had all the things that would have given him trouble. He's a southpaw, he had a strong fast jab, the conditioning to stay with mayweather, and the chin to keep boxing with mayweather.

There's no way he could beat mayweather on the inside, but i think the way pacquiao could beat him was to box but outwork him. Keep the jab and straight left constantly on his face every minute for 12 rounds.

i'm not saying pacquiao would beat him but he would have given him a lot of trouble.
                For the early part definetley.

What are you smoking? He couldn't fight on his back foot, his counter-punching was almost non existant, it was all about jab-jab-straight left hand, his right hook wasn't even a factor. He might have been in his physical prime but not at his technical peak. That Pac gets picked apart by the Floyd who fought Corrales.

That's how you beat floyd. With the fast Jab, and the power hand behind it. And you outwork him and you force him into a fight.

Pacquiao is not faster than mayweather, but boxing is a marathon, not a sprint.

He looked great against Marquez at 130. Countering, using his right, fighting intelligently, basically everything people thought he could not do.
