Comments Thread For: Guerrero: Marquez, Khan Rejected Me - So I Went To 147

On July 28th, Robert Guerrero (29-1) will dive into uncharted waters when he faces Selcuk Aydin (23-0) for the interim WBC welterweight title. Guerrero will be making the jump from the lightweight division which is a 12 pound difference.

"Not many people realize that this is my 6th weight class. I started my career at 122," Guerrero would tell us on BoxingScene.com's official audio show, The Boxing Lab. "This will be my sixth world title in four different weight divisions. There are only two other fighters that I can think of that fought in six weight divisions and that is Oscar de la Hoya and Manny Pacquiao."

I hope Guerrero can back up his year plus long whining second half of the year in boxing has been flooded with upsets...and it's been great

He's very annoying. But I hope Robert can win vs Aydin so he can make it more interesting at 147.

Guerrero would be the best 140 lb fighter if anyone gave him the shot. At 147 he could still make things interesting

if he fights at 147 like he does at 35 & 40 then i can see him giving Paulie & Tim a beating. he's a textbook boxer with POWER, so he doesn't have to run.

Just because Guerrero wasn't able to get a fight with Khan or Marquez doesn't mean you can't fight at 135 or 140. He acts like these big fights should just be handed to him. I think Guerrero is a solid fighter but he hasn't really done anything to deserve a fight with a marquee name. He has yet to fight anyone that good at 135. But he looked like he was a ww against Katsidis.
Im interested in seeing how he looks at 147. I do respect him for taking this fight because it seems like a dangerous fight to take after this long of a layoff and for his first fight above 135.

This guy is always lying and making up stories Remember when he used to make up lies about how many titles he has? Bro when u tried to fight those guys, they were already contracted to fight other fighters..In fact, u werent even fighting at 140 when they didnt have fights, and when u talked about moving up, they were already buisy, I HATE u guerrerro and I hope ur the next shock loss!!

6 world titles? Lol, what?! He's only had 2 world championships at Featherweight and Super featherweight - interims don't count and neither do minor championships...
