It was a long night for Martinez.

Forget the over hyped Alvarez. This one is going to be something.
Wrong. Macklin was not pressuring at all.

He was boxing. That's why Sergio was thrown off.

    Horrible comparison.

wether people accept it or not its the superbowl of boxing period! The hispanic part of arums statement is racist and ******, they are the better fighters period. manny and mayweather are both damaged goods on their way out, Manny got his ass handed to him by JMM, Mayweather almost got his handed to him by Cotto, both dudes would get murdered in the same night by martinez or Chavez Jr, not only because of their size but because Chavez and Sergio are still in their prime, and just all around far more dangerous fighters than the other 2 divas. Can anyone really say after Mayweathers and pacmans last few lousey performances that they are number 1 pound for pound????/ hell naw! Martinez should be rated at number 1 due to the way he wins and against whom you truly cannot compare that to mayweathers or pacmans wimpy and dissapointing performances, plus those dudes wont even fight each other they only handpick winnable fights, and even there its been backfiring on both of them!

Yeah I keep hearing this and wonder if people really watched that fight. Everyone thought Macklin was going to try to pressure and get in Martinez' chest like he did against Sturm with great success, and instead he sat back and made Martinez come to him and countered him. It was a very solid strategy for a while, but he just wasn't quite at a high enough level to pull it off all fight. The pressure fighters in recent history who have given Martinez some trouble, Pavlik and Williams in the first fight, used their jab on the way in. Chavez never jabs he just walks straight in and tries to throw body punches. I don't think that's a successful strategy, nor do I think Chavez is nearly the class of fighter as the prime version of Williams that went to war with Martinez and maybe not even the drunk Pavlik.
