Comments Thread For: Vitali: Haye Had a Concrete Offer, He Picked Chisora

Vitali Klitschko reminded David Haye on Monday he rejected the chance to meet in a heavyweight super fight in favour of facing Dereck Chisora.

Haye demanded a showdown with Klitschko after flattening Chisora in an explosive five-round victory at Upton Park on Saturday night.

The 31-year-old expressed his fear a fight against Klitschko would never happen because his performance against Chisora was "too good".

Klitschko, speaking in Moscow to publicise his clash with Manuel Charr on September 8, insisted Haye should have been his next opponent.

"David Haye was supposed to be at this press conference," Klitschko told Russian news agency RIA Novosti.

Vitali offered a contract for a smaller purse than Haye had agreed with Chisora after Haye had already agreed to a fight with Chisora. Does Vitali somehow think that this helps his case?

I also find it amusing that Charr chose to go to the Haye fight and press conference than the one for his own fight with Vitali.

So after seeing him stop Chisora, you're scared to offer him another fight?

offering him a fight when he had already agreed to fight Chisora and for a small amount of money, Haye made the right decision

Vitali is scared, he doesnt want to risk stepping in the ring after what he saw over the weekend.

Just cancel the Char fight, he's a bum and fight Haye in November/December

No it wasn't the weekend that changed his mind, he changed his mind right after the Chisora fight when he realised and said "If Chisora had speed, i would have been in trouble".

Vitali literally offered Haye concrete instead of a cut of the earnings. Sounds fair.
