Isn't he the one that KO'd Amir Khan?
Calm down son. Was a simple mistake. My point still stands regardless.
And before I get insulted or corrected again, I well aware that is was a different Garcia that KO'd Khan.Last edited by Rapid Counter; 07-16-2012, 11:17 AM.Comment

Nacho Bristain would be the best option....Ortiz is fast and strong, all he needs is a jab and combos of 4 punches...ala Marquez, he could be the best at 147.Comment

yepSpot on, especially considering he is right handed... If you're strong hand is in front why would you only use it to hook? If any fighter is leading with their "strong" arm you HAVE to use a jab or it's completely useless IMO. As for trainers Pedro Diaz would be a perfect fit IMO.
a jab and a hook
like dlh
or else what is the pointComment

you are missing up the Garcia brothers.Garcia is too brave with other peoples health. He should of pulled Margarito out and he got ruined because of it. Ortiz's career could have possibly been cut short if he didn't quit himself. Its the corners job to look out for their fighters health, to pull them out when they are too brave for their own good. When a fighter wants to quit and his corner is not listening something is wrong. I don't blame Ortiz for not trusting Garcia.Comment

I don't think Steward and Ortiz have personalities that can mesh well together. A coach that can get along well with his student is just as important or maybe more important than just having the ability to impart knowledge. Steward and Ortiz would end up similar to Steward and Jermaine Taylor. Ortiz didn't have a strong family system growing up making him insecure in many ways. He needs a coach who is stern but also a big brother/father figure type. Goosen is very knowledgeable but he is an all business type of guy like Steward.

Exactly and he didn't even seem to want to use right hook against Lopez. It was loaded up straight left after another. He needs to mix his shots up with his speed and power. He can be a hell of a WW, but he needs to focus.Spot on, especially considering he is right handed... If you're strong hand is in front why would you only use it to hook?
