    Why is everyone ignoring...

Pop Garcia and Danny Garcia's ring IQ?

For some reason, people are talking about an epic asswhupping from Kahn until he got tagged, but other than the opening round, Garcia was putting the more serious hands on Kahn, which led to his downfall.

Kahn was blitzing Garcia with right hands in the first round, and by the time the second was there, Garcia nearly neutralized the right hand and was landing some mean counters.

Pop Garcia gave pretty good instructions and necessary motivation.

When Kahn was reeling, instead of going all Alfred Angulo on Kahn, Danny took his time, threw that overhand right on Kahn until he was finally finished.

This kid and his pop didn't win this by luck, there was some serious ring IQ being displayed that allowed Danny to adjust in-fight and in between rounds.

His dad is annoying as ****, but was prepared. Still happy at the outcome...me and some of my buddies rooting for Danny were ecstatic. Bring on JMM.

Yea, he was measuring his power punches. Also, Danny was trying to take away Khan's jab by throwing the looping right hand

Danny Garcia has a very high ring I.Q. for his age, the complete opposite of amir khan and his coaching team. ppl hate pop garcia for good reason too, but he definitely out planned freddy roach last nite.

Great post, and i completely agree. I mentioned before that after the first round I was hella frustrated with Danny. He was standing mid-range and getting picked apart by Amir.

That second round looked a lot different and u can definitely see Danny beginning to identify and loop around that right hand a lot more effectively. Danny isn't the dim-witted brawler some are tryna paint him on here to be. He's just not athletically-gifted, so he works with what he has. He fought a smart fight, adjusted and won.

Those who feel it was a "lucky punch" need to go back and re watch that fight. There are no lucky punches in boxing, every punch is thrown with one intention: and that is to land.

Danny Garcia was very impressive last night,He does seem to have an High IQ.As he gets more experience with each bout,He will become more of a complete fighter.

Danny's still just a little Green,He's only 24 but has a little more work to put in before he is truly at the top of his game.

Dude has talent and last night proved that hes on his way

Yeah I agree that he's still green but displays pretty high IQ for a tender age.

Despite how impressed with his pops for preparing his son for battle, I am wondering what the ceiling is with his father before he needs to be handled by a greater trainer. Who knows, maybe his pop is bringing him on little by little and is using each fight as a platform for training, but what is this father/son ceiling.

I would like to see some more head movement and a little more lateral movement.

i agree totally, except the dad being annoying, I find him humorous, the guy has a future in stand up comedy, because even though he doesn't know it, pops thinks he's just speaking, but he has some serious jokes, he just doesn't know it.......!

JMH everything you said is true. I was also impressed by Garcia's finishing capabilities. He was still timing shots, throwing to the body & reaching around Khan's guard with hard hooks. They know how to fight. Poppa Garcia was right. He has a fine talent with his boy man!!
