Yeah, but this is the kind of decision that can cause a fighter to get permanently injured. The last round was painful to watch, it was only García throwing massive bombs against a Khan who had no legs, wasn't completely aware of his surroundings, and was just covering himself trying to survive.Comment

Bayless is an excellent referee. It was a world title unification fight, so he gave Khan every opportunity to continue. He wasn't "buying time for Khan" by asking if he was ok and making sure he could walk forward, he was simply doing his job. A referee has to be convinced (beyond reasonable doubt at least) that a fighter is fit to continue before he can resume the action.Comment
