That would take a miracle to happen with the Al Haymon protection agency in full throttle (e.g., surfer boy quitter beat the undefeated Berto hype train). They're worse (or smarter, businesswise) than Top Rank and Golden Boy combined when protecting their fighters.Comment

I really wanted Khan to win this and shut Garcia's ******ed father up, but it's ridiculous that some people are calling that left hook a lucky punch. It was clear from the opening few exchanges that Garcia's plan was to punch with Khan to catch him coming in. It wasn't the first time he caught Khan with a wide, looping punch. It was just the first time it landed right on the button.
And using Khan's conditioning coach as an excuse is silly as well. Khan's conditioning was good, as was evident by the way he was able to get up and continue fighting. Unfortunately he's just always going to be vulnerable to clean, hard shots.
At any rate, I think there are two main issues at play besides Khan's punch resistance.
1) He fought the wrong fight. He was too aggressive and too eager to look spectacular and impress. He went looking to hurt Garcia early, which wasn't a wise strategy.
2) He has some significant holes in his game. His defence is suspect and he gets hit way too much.
I hope he recovers from this and is able to continue at the same high level. One thing that's never in question is his heart. He's always great to watch good or bad.Comment

I'd love to see the Kell Brook fight and hope it happens next, but Khan doesn't need Brook. In his last few fights, Khan's been in 2 FOTY candidates against Maidana and Peterson and tonight he was in probably the best action fight of the year. HBO will practically be jumping over themselves to get him back on.Comment
