Good point, Mayweather has a good few past prime and older fighters on his record too like Gatti, De La Hoya, Mosley and Marquez which some argue are his best wins.

It's just that Khan has been honest enough to say it out loud.

Except that Gatti was actually ranked #1 at 140 in The Ring year end rankings in 2004. So he was basically entering 2005 as the best fighter at 140 not named Kostya Tszyu[who was the 140 Ring champion, beaten by Ricky Hatton on the same time frame Mayweather destroyed Gatti] and was WBC champion.

De La Hoya was ranked as the #3 JMW, and was the WBC champion.

Mosley was the Lineal/WBA WW champion, and top 3 P4P.

Marquez was the #2 P4P best fighter, Ring champion at LW, and went on to beat Manny Pacquiao 2 years after Floyd beat him. So Floyd beat an old Marquez. Pacquiao couldn't even beat an even older Marquez. Or younger. He just hasn't been able to beat any version of Marquez at all, young, old, past prime, prime, any prime. Floyd took care of him in one fight.

Why are people getting sooooooo upset? Why would you not want a guy to be honest? SRL said the same thing about Hagler and no one hated on him. Its about being truthful. Maybe it discredits it some but a win over Floyd is still a very good win.

Maybe he wouldnt have beat a prime Floyd but Floyd is still undefeated so even if he has slowed, a Khan win is huge because no one else has done it even with Floyd slowing. Maybe its just me but I love a guy being honest and paying his respect.

I mean, its not like we're blind. Anyone can see that Floyd & Pac are past there primes. They are still very good fighters though so a win will get you respect. Its not like this is the 1st time he's said it. He's openly talked about catching Floyd at the right time.
