I have to go with Wlad, he is always in superb condition, year round where as Lewis often blew up and came in in not so great shape.
Wladimir is far more consistent as far as I am concerned.

The Lewis that fought Briggs, Mercer, Rahman, McCall, Bruno etc showed up I have no doubt Wlad K.Os him

Lewis was a great heavyweight for sure but I feel its a case of now he is retired he will be spoken of a bit too highly.

Its very well saying he'd get inside and do this and that but how many guys have we said this about?

Its a toss up, leaning towards Wlad.
Its a shame hes been so dominant every guy hes likely to face will be dismissed as having no chance so he won't get much credit for it.

I am extremely certain Lewis would knock him out cold.

You are using "lewis sometimes wasn't in the best shape"

in a PRIME VS PRIME debate, i.e the BEST versions of each, not the best version of Wlad against Lewis from Mcall 1

If Mormeck, Thompson, Adamek etc lived in that era nobody would have heard of them and they never would have got title shots thats for damn sure.

It's not Wlads fault, but one of the main reasons he is so dominant is because the division is utterly pathetic.

Fat midgets, cruiserweights and contenders from the former era a decade past their best, that's wladamirs opponents. That, and nothing more than that.

Lewis fought his fair share of fat midgets & cruiserweights himself.

I don't think the heavyweight division has been that bad, Wladimir already beat Rahman & Mercer and he would of crushed Golota, Tua, Morrison & Briggs (and a shot to **** Tyson) I don't think those guys are really any better than the likes of Chagaev, Brewster, Peter, Brock, Haye, Thompson, Chambers, Ibragimov.

            Which ones?

Even if he did they were not his best wins, unlike Wlad.

Wlad "would have" crushed all those guys based on what, you have no proof at all of that.

He beat Rahman and Mercer, yes, a decade out of their primes.

and yes, the guys in the 90's were MUCH better than those guys you listed, David Haye is the best of that lot and he would have been Ko'd by even Morrison, who's like Lennox's 10th best win maybe.

Haye is Wlads best win btw.

I think current Wladimir is the best hes ever been, what about Lewis when do you feel he was at his absolute best? 97-2000?

yeah around that period, as you say though i will hand wlad one thing, consistancy.

Even in his prime lewis was liable to have a lazy day, but i'd pick at the period between 95-2000 as his best, beggining with the Morrison performance, ending around the time he fought Grant

People argue Lewis has this great resume and you will laugh when I say it isn't much better than Wlads because reality is the likes of John Ruiz was beating his opposition to a pulp in their prime & with no disrespect to Mr Ruiz but he was one of the worst heavyweight champions in history.

                  That & Tysons left overs.

Lewis best win is probably a post car-crash Holyfield who had his soul taken against Bowe & got beaten up several times against John ''The quiet man'' Ruiz

With that said, either could win by K.O & even with the above said I think they're evenly matched, sized & with similar styles & tools.

Whatever the outcome I wouldn't of thought the fight would go the distance.
