I've noticed that before the Chavez Jr vs Andy Lee fight, Martinez was the favorite between him and Chavez. After the Andy Lee fight though, some people switched and actually thought "Hmm, Chavez actually has a chance against Martinez." That's your opinion. But out of curiosity, how does beating Andy Lee convert anyone's thinking of Chavez beating Martinez? Someone with Chavez's style, it's easy to look impressive against the immobile Andy Lee. How does that fight reflect what Chavez is going to do against Martinez, whose style is completely different from Andy Lee? All I want to know is, what was it about Andy Lee people saw and said, "That's what's going to happen to Martinez. Even though Martinez moves around a lot, that's just going to happen anyways."
Andy Lee does not = Martinez

I'm not so scared of a robbery now that Lee was actually leading in Texas. So I'll wait to hear what the ring size is -

I won't apologize, but I will admit I was wrong. But I'm still curious. No one answered me yet. Where do people see the similarity between Andy Lee and Martinez in terms of style other than they're both southpaw? That's all I want to know. I'm not here to bash Chavez Jr. This thread is not about that. It's not about how much better Sergio is, or how badly he is going to hurt Chavez. I just want my question answered. How does what Chavez did to immobile Andy Lee = what Chavez is going to do to the mobile Martinez?Comment

Andy Lee is taller with more reach than Martinez,BUT he lacks the speed, rhythm and power of Martinez,Lee is not and never will be elite he is missing coordination and speed.Martinez is the test Chavez must pass in order to be great.Comment

To me it's always been about Sergio...always felt he was a bit overrated since the first P Will fight where he was flopping around, taking knees, and just gassed the last part of the fight. I can't get that out of my headComment

Definitely...it will be a reminder of what a commitment to body punching can do. He's not his dad, but there are times he looks just like him when he gets inside and goes to work. Effects from body punching like that come on sudden and abruptly, guys just fall apart late into the fight. I suspect Sergio will be winning on the cards for the majority of fight until later onComment

I think he always wanted to fight him now, just the WBC and Arum didn't want the fight.Originally posted by SoggyLungsagreed...martinez is much faster, sharper and stronger and has better movement than andy lee. chavez jr going to have a tough fight with martinez, but respect to him for stepping up and finally fighting him.
I think he's ****** for saying the WBC was protecting Martinez from him considering the WBC did everything in their power to make sure they didn't fight.Comment

Dude is correct, two completely different fighters, with huge speed difference and style. Chavez will find it difficult to hit Martinez with his low body movement. Andy Lee stands up straight and doesn't use angles in the way Martinez uses them. It will be a difficult fight for both of them but Martininez will come out with a late TKO or a possible KO!Comment
