You can't really blame Golden Boy for this move.

It would be really ****** of them to put Canelo in with a top guy because they are going up against Chavez-Martinez.

The only way Canelo's fight is competitive in terms of dollars, would be against Floyd or Cotto.

So obviously they aren't going to throw him in with any tier of fighter right under Floyd or Cotto; they'll wait until they are not going up against one of the biggest fights of the year.

So I understand where they're coming from, but with that said, I think this is one of the worst matchups they could have possibly made. I'm glad i cancelled Showtime the other day; I was just worried that when I did, they were going to announce someone huge.

It's unbelievable that with the bar set so low already, thinking they were getting Mayorga, they were able to do worse.

Hopefully next time it's a real contender.

Just ****ing sad if it's true. I keep tryin' to leave myself room to get on the Alvarez bandwagon, but how am I gonna' do that if they pull **** like this?

I wouldn't be surprised if they do pull something like that. Just for the simple fact that I don't believe Lopez's team would advise him to take this fight, not even three months after the Ortiz fight. There are obviously better fights out there for the guy, but instead his manager, trainer, promoter, etc. are content on the kid committing career suicide right after his biggest win.

Protect the Canelo hype at all costs, even if it means hurting the career's of your other fighters..(Lopez, Lara, K9 just signed with GB, right?)
