    Props to Carson Jones

Came over to the U.K and backed up everything. I was just as if not more impressed by him than I was Brook.

Good chin, great ability to recover, good gas-tank. Strong, strong, hungry guy.
Hes a threat to just about anybody at 147 IMO
I thought he was done around round 4 man was I wrong.

    I like him.

Do you think Brook gassed mainly from those bodyshots? He did 12 with Matthew Hatton at a good pace, 'kind of' gives you an idea of how much bodyshots can take out of a fighter.

Jones did ok in the fight, he won more rounds than I thought he would and made Brook look as average as himself at times. But he reminded me of Margarito, tough and aggressive but very one dimensional.

Brook gassed out because of body shots and bad fitness I guess. Props to Carson, as you've said.....he would give any 147 a tough fight

Yh he definitely only knows one way.
I'm not sure why he doesn't use his jab more, the odd times he did throw it he had a bloody good jab.

I think he neglected it after getting tagged with a pull counter in around the 4th.

Didn't understand why Brook was expected to dominate Jones pre-fight, always believed it was going to be close. 6/1 for a Jones victory and the stoppage odds were even better.

Jones did well to take all that punishment and come on strong in the second half of the fight. The body shots really took a lot of Brook and I thought he'd be taking a knee in the last but he pulled through.

Glad a fight like this happened now, Brook does have some talent but his flaws and weaknesses needed to be realised and hopefully they're worked on in the gym.

Hearn mentioned Brook fighting Hector David Saldivia before facing the winner of Bailey vs Alexander, I wonder if this still penciled in?

Saldivia from what I've seen fights quite a lot like Jones and hits like a mule.

He might want to rethink this low reward fight.

I hold my hands up I was one, I certainly didn't expect it to be that close.
At least we know Brook has some grit and a good chin, good fight to learn from.
I still think he has a bright future and have no doubt Jones would probably beat most in that top 10.
I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch further down the line tbh

It's funny that at one point Margarito was scheduled to fight him and he was called a bum.

According to the IBF he has to fight him or lose his ranking. And Hector saldivia is not high risk. I haven't seen him since he got KO'd by Ouali because he's been hiding out in Argentina ever since.

Jones and saldivia are C/D class fighters if Kell can not learn and will struggle just like he did last night then he better think about making some changes. He does need a conditioner and if he cut some corners he needs someone in his ear telling him some home truths.

I wish there were more fighters like Carson Jones. That was a mini-classic. And rightly or wrongly promoters are more inclined to take a chance in throwing their men in with a guy who already has 8 losses.
