This would be a huge event (esp if he beats Sergio)...just having the names Mayweather vs JC Chavez on a bill again is such a great throwback for two generations of fans, older and younger. the personal stories and revenge factor for this would be great buildup..

Every JC Sr fan remembers the Mayweather's, even if they stopped watching boxing way back in the 90s...they'd come out of the woodwork for this one.

That's a very good point. They could base it around getting revenge for Roger.

It would be an awesome event and Mayweather at 160 against Chavez is a legit threat. The size difference would be absurd.

Thats to much weight for Mayweather 160lbs, he cant fight on that

the division doesnt mean everything

maravilla doesnt put on 20 lbs the way JR does

he fought a full career as a ww / jr mw.


chavez jr, on the other hand, enters camp as a HW and dries the hell out. then on fight night he'd have a solid 30 lbs on floyd.

that's just too much. your punches arent doing anything to a professional boxer who is 30 lbs larger than you are unless you are one hell of a puncher, or you're a HW (the big enough division,)
floyd is a decent puncher, but not on the level where he could do anything to keep a monster like jr away


jr would knock floyd mayweather out, and it would be due entirely to the size. floyd does not have the legs to box with jr. he used to. he doesnt anymore. he was on the ropes against miguel friggin cotto (a blown up WW with stubby arms,)

JR is the biggest MW ever. he probably takes drugs to make his way down to MW. he's the biggest ever. floyd wouldnt put a dent in his chin. not a dent. his shots would do nothing to him.

it would be a shame to see a fighter like that topple a great like mayweather. if he werent enjoying an insurmountable advantage in size he wouldnt have a prayer.
