Actually comparing a mexican 21 year old with a 24 year old american with olympic pedigree is more thsn fair. Basically canelo was fighting professionals while he learned his craft. Russel is being brought along too slowly. The division is weak, no reason he shouldnt step up sooner given his talent level. He hasnt had any decent tests. Canelo fought often, but chronologically he stepped up light years quicker than almost snybody outside of tyson.

Yes, how about Rigondeaux, Gamboa and you could mention Lara too and Franco? The only thing Canelo has step up is on $h1t.
