Ok, let's see... He lost the Tarver-fights, and the other fights you mentioned wasn't at MW so they're irrelevant to this thread/poll.

I thought Hopkins won the first fight with Taylor clearly.

doesn't matter that he "lost" to Taylor.

beating undefeated glen Johnson and Trinidad alone is better than anything joe did at smw. not too mention hopkins fought and beat every top fighter in the division, which calzaghe didn't do (as pointed out he only fought TWO top 5 guys that entire time).

            its really a no brainer.

              Kessler>Trinidad (NOT pfp)

              Lacy, Eubank> Holmes, Joppy

Reid tie Johnson. (Reid was more highly regarded before and after the Calzaghe fight.
Johnson would eventually shine years later)

              Mitchell < ODLH

Brewer > Echols (I know Echols eeked out a win over Brewer in a classic. I still prefer Brewer who was a champ)

Bika, Woodhall < Eastman, Mercado (close)

              Veit < Allen

Hakkar and Pudwill could be the two most pathetic title challengers of the last 20 years.

I side with Calzaghe because I like his best wins more, but Hopkins edges the second tier wins. And I did score both Taylor-Hopkins fights for Taylor.

Hopkins is on Haglers level and probably higher.

you know it sounds ****** to type "lmao" if nothing is really funny, right?

Take Veit and Allen, I have little opinion of those guys. Echols ******.

Reid was a former champ who was basically peaking when he fought Calzaghe. Reid apparently got legitimately ripped off against Ottke, unlike Johnson. And Johnson wasn't relevant anytime remotely close to when he fought Hopkins, before or after. I'm not comparing Johnson and Reid's resume's, but that's a tough concept to understand. I know.

                      Reid>Johnson, correction.
