I hate to say it, but this is good news.

The WBA should never have made Rahman mandatory.

I hope they find a replacement, they have 16 days to do so. Or, if someone needs more time, they could delay the fight a few weeks.

So Povetkin gets lucky and keeps his title instead of getting stopped by an old man.

I wasn't so interested in seeing Rahman recycled again anyways. Any hope of a replacement for Povetkin to fight on this short of notice?

            1. Hasim Rahman (injured)
            2. Robert Helenius (injured)
            3. Alexander Ustinov
            4. Dennis Boytsov
            5. Luis Ortiz
            6. Kubrat Pulev
            7. Ruslan Chagaev (already fought Povetkin)
            8. Chris Arreola (injured)
            9. Manuel Charr (going to fight Vitali?)
            10. Andrzej Wawrzyk
            11. Jovo Pudar
            12. Travis Walker
            13. Magomed Abdusalamov (scheduled)
            14. Oleg Platov
            15. Raphael Zumbano

Bolded mean they might be available. Boytsov or Ustinov would be okay. Ortiz doesn't have enough fights. Pudar, Platov, Zumbano and Walker might be willing, but they are not good choices at this time.

I was the only one looking forward to this fight. I heard Rahman was in pretty good shape(hearsay only). He was the first fighter Sasha was going to face with legit one punch knockout power. Povetkin can't avoid a right hand if his life depended on it & just ask Lennox about that...I don't care if Rahman is 39 I had him to win. I like the idea of Harrison fighting Sasha. Lol! On a serious note if a replacement can be found on short notice I want Travis walker. He beat chagaev in my opinion & knocked out kLi Meehan recently. He's a great short notice replacement

Povetkin says his fight with Rahman is close to being rescheduled for July 27th in Moscow.
