I don't know why the IBF recycles fighters who have already been KOed and makes them the mandatory again.
Thompson beat Harris, but that alone shouldn't be enough to make him mandatory (especially since he'd been KOed by Wladimir).
The IBF should have it's next eliminator between fighters who have never had an IBF title shot before.
he was suppose to fight chambers in a final eliminator but chambers pulled out. rossy & harris both had regional belts which gave them top 10 ratings in the IBF. thompson, chambers, harris & rossy were the top ranked guys who were not scheduled or not injured at the time they made the traditional IBF 4 man tourney to determine the next mandatory....
Arreola doesn't want it now, Fury and Price are not ready. Helenius is injured.
Pulev or Boytsov would be good. If Chisora beats Haye, he'd be okay too.
when you hold 3 world titles that means there are so many different opponents who could be your next mandatory. regional belts for each organization create rankings so if he doesn't want to fight thompson he should have vacated the belt like lennox lewis, george foreman & many others did. the world titles don't mean as much as they use to. most guys want money not the glory. if fighting someone else meant a better payday he should have vacated the belt & looked elsewhere. only in europe does a world title mean something. andre berto(before peds)vacated his IBF title to rematch ortiz instead of fighting randall bailey for substantially less money. it happens all the time...titles mean nothing these days when there are 4 in each division.
