I agree 100% bruh. Lopez deserves ALL the credit in the world. Had Ortiz came out for the 10th Lopez may just have stopped him then. I just looked at the last round again, and I think Josesito broke it at 13 seconds left in the round. I thought he may have broken it earlier like Vic said, but it looked to be just a good shot, as Vic acted as business as usual for most of the round.

      • If Ortiz didn't make it clear already, he doesn't fight to win for glory.

He fights for money and whatever false pride it brings. He got that and should get out of boxing before he embarrasses himself further.

        • What does tonight say about Jessie Vargas?

I thought Lopez was the stronger fighter out of the two and arguably beat Vargas. But it still stands as a victory on Vargas's record; not to mention Vargas went 12 rounds with him...

Does tonight bring up Vargas' stock?

Not really he got a gift of a decision. He gets no props.

              • Really don't call Ortiz a quitter. He fought hard. He made a mistake but he had to quit. He had a broken jaw! Wtf was he supposed to do?

None of us are professional boxers (well, some of us may be in disguise), and it's not our JOB to get hit in the face and hit others in the face for a living. It is however Victor Ortiz's job, and he gets paid millions of dollars to do it.

How cool would it be if you could just quit your job whenever you felt it was too demanding and you'd still get paid for it, and still be employed the following day and allowed to earn paychecks again? Because that's what Victor Ortiz does : He's paid millions of dollars to get in the ring and fight, and every time it gets too rough for his liking he throws his arms in the air, says "**** it", quits, collects his paycheck, and goes home until he gets another fight lined up.
i don't think that's a perfect comparison to make regarding quitting my job and still getting a paycheck seeing as how i don't get punched in the face for the living. I pick up phones and type **** for most of my day. and when i broke my hand, punching people coincidentally, i did in fact get multiple days off to get surgery and recover from my injuries. part of a boxer's job is to intelligently defend himself, obviously ortiz felt he couldn't do that. personally, as someone who trains, i choose not to call professional fighters cowards and what not because i spend my day typing and answering phones. training is hard enough for me, so i give credit to anyone who steps in the ring for a prize fight.

How, unless you really think Vargas would have beat Ortiz

Vargas won a 10 round SD dec against Lopez that was disputed for the record, all it shows is Vargas might have a better chin
