1st of all I don't see how anyone can put this in the same category as the Maidana and Mayweather fight.

The only reason I can think that someone would be foolish enough to do so is that they A. Never boxed before. B. Don't know the seriousness of a broken jaw.

Now as far as him smiling/laughing......well all I'm saying is that maybe that's just a way he has learned to handled disappointment.

To be honest that's a Sigmund Freud defense mechanism's called Reaction Formation.

Alot of people do that....and it isn't something that is abnormal or indicative of Ortiz having mental issues.

It is true, he's a dummy.

But it's fun watching dummies lose.

That tactic made Mayorga millions. Ortiz can do that too.
i see him more as a golota more than a mayorga.

i'm pretty sure you can emphatize.

look ur going into psychology. at the end of the day, no1 is gonna care if it was a reaction to this or that, ortiz just lost, got his jaw broken and ruined a chance at a mega payday. and what does he do? laugh. everyone already thinks the guy is strange. like i said i was a big fan, not anymore. hes not built to be at the top of this sport, that much is clear. so sure, hes a good fighter, mebbe really good, but in the end, hes turned into a waste of talent.

Sad but that's all he has at this point. To think that people were touting him to be the next BIG thing in boxing.

Lopez is no mug, so Ortiz should really have been using this fight as a platform to put on a flawless display in preparation for the Canelo fight. Even before the stoppage, his defense looked very sloppy and he was making a lot of mistakes whenever Lopez put him under pressure.
Victor kept trading with him and the Lopes's hands were too fast. When he boxed him he was winning. I think there will be a rematch, who wouldn't want to see that again.

To be honest I'm just giving you an answer to your question as to why Ortiz reacts they way he does in certain situations.

I'm not an Ortiz fan....never have been, but I can see where you are coming from as far as being frustrated with him as a fighter.
