Great match up for both showing their actual position and skill levels

sure, bring up one of the only good fighters Roy fought while Calzaghe (3 years younger) was a prospect.

Weird, I remember HBO billing the Calzaghe/Bika fight as Joe's "coming out party" (well, for their network anyway, as the Lacy fight was on Showtime) and then listening to the commentary crew talk about how ****ing boring that fight was for the next 36 minutes.

And you didn't watch them side-by-side, that's just ******ed, you may have watched them back-to-back. Even if you did watch them side-by-side(which you didn't), you couldn't pay full attention to either unless you have intermovable eyes that operate separate from one another like a snake. Which you don't.

Because his hardcore fans talk about him like he's an ATG and would have beaten anyone, and has some great resume. He has a solid resume, is a HOF but not an ATG, and was a great fighter. But his fans overrate him way too much in my opinion.

I don't know what it is about this place but people make some of the most outlandish claims I've ever read on this forum.

"I watched the fight in slow motion with the sound off."

"I rewatched this fight and counted every punch that landed."

              "I watched two fights side-by-side."

Nobody in their right mind would believe this ludicrous bull****.

Any boxer with fans that hype him up to be superman will get hate. It comes with the territory.

I liked watching Calzaghe fight. Yeah, at times he would get slap happy and get sloppy but he's an undefeated fighter so I can't take anything away from him.

I don't believe he is an ATG personally but can see how some people may consider him one.

the reason he gets so much critisism is he never made proper use of his talent, he never took risks which makes his false undefeated record even less significant. the way he ducked fighters and held that paper title hostage choosing not to take any real challenges reflect everything bad with the sport, its arguably bcuz of fighters like calzaghe that boxing is in teh state that its in.

factor in his delusional fans on top of that.
Calzaghe beat B-Hop imo. B-Hop did nothing in the championship rounds, He lost that fight.

No doubt, Hopkins won that fight due to having landed the only meaningful punches in the match.
Those girlish slaps Calzaghe missed with or picked off by Hopkin's gloves don't count for crap.

Had Hopkins and Joe meet 8 years prior, Calzaghe would have been KO'ed. But, of course, Frank Warren fully realized this.
