Even then, with less than prime elites in front of him, Calazghe lost to Hopkins, and beat on an punch drunk Jones.

Calzghe is, The King Of The English Bums.

      Accurate and real.
Over half of Calzaghe KOs were due to help from the crooked English Refs who always seemed to stop the fight prematurely after Calzaghe landed a few of those fluff slaps of his.
LOL, the guy couldn't even throw a straight punch and tended to rip the tape of his gloves across his opponents faces.
Had Calzaghe fought in the US at that period, he would have been KO'ed long ago. Nigel Benn would have murdered him.

Of the Warren/Calzaghe team, Frank Warren was definitely the more talented of the two.

Hopkins, Toney, Jones, Benn are all > Joe "The Slappa" Calzghe

                    What can you do?

Out of interest are there any fighters that you give an "unreasonable" amount of backing for one reason or another?

Not really, I try to be a dispassionate as possible.

Hell, when I watch a fight I'm completely silent unless someone does something ******. After a fight, if a fighter I particularly like wins I'm happy for about five minutes, if he loses I'm bummed for about five minutes.
