He was exciting, always showed up in shape, had incredible mental fortitude, and didn't look like everyone else. For me, that's enough for me to like watching him and I still watch his fights often. I have no clue why all these douchers have such a lust for hating the guy. He went out there and fought in an exciting way, and won, every time. Very few can make that claim.

Ward dominates Calzaghe imo. A Dawson fight is 50/50 imo.

Let's see. Patrick Roy has 4 Stanley Cup rings and 3 Con Smythe trophies. What does Ricky Hatton have? 2 brutal knockouts the only 2 times he stepped into the ring with an opponent with a pulse :hand9:

At least we can agree on Bowie lol.

Not that I have Ricky in my sig because I thought he was a great fighter, I just like him for his character and heart

He doesn't get much hate but people tend to see him as a Bute kind of fighter who fought Carl Froch instead of Bernard Hopkins or Roy Jones at the stage of their career they were in. So he doesn't get huge respects but he was a good fighter. Protected, yes but with a workrate second to none. But once the hype is gone all fighters, regardless of the demographics and following are judged for what they did and Joe did good with what he had.

He gets hated because he isn't an American. That's why.

the hate is a response to the way many people completely over rate him because he is undefeated

                  Froch > Calzaghe.

On a serious note, i've never understood the hate. He's a decent fighter, and definite HOF candidate.

Joe's win over RJJ is as credible as Danny Green's and Dennis Lebedev's, in other words, not credible at all.

calzaghe was just too great for people to realise.

let's have a calzaghe appreciation thread.
