he's clearly just tryna put a few rounds under him, he's not trying to add any wear on his body...not that I agree with this line of thinking. I mean what exactly did you guys consider fedchenko and ramos? name value?

I will say one thing, though, I've always though that a primed Barrera and a primed Morales would have beat Marquez! Possibly even KO/TKO him.
Thanx for clarifying. One thing though, even though Marquez was a boring fighter back in the day he was also a very smart counterpuncher, which would have worked against Morales and Barerra's agression, being more popular, they would have probably got the decision but both fights would have been so close that Marquez and the public would have demanded rematch's that JuanMa definitely would have won leading to a trilogies with both fighter's.................. Geez imagine that.

Actually Freddie Norwood in 1999 was his first big fight, and when he lost that fight, even though he should have won it, he didn't get another good fight until Peden in 2002.

The main person who people say avoided Marquez was Naseem Hamed. Marquez was his mandatory for like 2 years, but the WBO let him fight other fighters instead of Marquez for 2 years.

Yeah it was on HBO. You can view it easily on youtube. Marquez should have won, but it was a pretty ugly fight.
