I think the main argument is that Canelo is the more popular fighter in MEXICO. But judging by Chavez's numbers on HBO, it would appear that JCCJR is the more popular fighter in the US.

Still, they are both pretty big stars at this stage considering their age, they are still extremely young. The ultimate fight is going to be Chavez jr. vs Canelo somewhere down the road
