Chavez vs Martinez > Ortiz vs Canelo.

The bad blood between JJC Jr and Martinez along with both fighters being hot right now make for a better matchup. With Ortiz its hit or miss. The only way I'll change my mind is if Ortiz loses and they put in Cotto against Canelo instead! Now THAT is a fight I would certainly pay to see!!!

Yes then Arum would be in big trouble with this event. Cotto vs Canelo would be a big fight and would completely shadow the Chavez/Martinez fight. That is one I would happily pay for.

May 5th and Sept. 17 is one of the two biggest fight weekends in the year. GBP already took May 5th with Mayweather-Cotto, so why is Arum booking Chavez-Martinez "pure ill will?" It's one of the best days to run a PPV with a Mexican fighter. Why does Golden Boy have claim to the two huge fight days?

GBP has run a PPV card on the weekends May 5 and Sept 17 the past 3 years almost every time; Mayweather-Marquez, Mayweather-Mosley, Mosley-Mora, Mayweather-Ortiz, Mayweather-Cotto. Uncle Bob isn't being some evil monster for running a card on one of those dates too.

Run the two cards together for all i care; the fans will vote with their dollars, and I'm buying Chavez-Martinez.

Hell no! Showtime commentators actually call the fights punch for punch like commentators are suppoed to, that alone makes a great night of boxing. Listening to Lamply and Steward d1ck ride all night makes me wanna puke.

Wonder what Schaefer means by saying "HBO knows exactly why Canelo went to Showtime"? I just assumed it had to do with the new Showtime Sports President being GBP's lawyer and already having invested a lot of money into Ortiz with the Berto rematch.
