Canelo is a champion, he's not a prospect anymore. I know titles don't mean much to the fans but they still mean something to the fighters. just look at all the 5hit he gets, from boxers, for being handed a title.

Wilfred Benitez was a 3 divison champ at 22, Tyson was undisputed champ at 20. even Fernando Varagas was defending his title against actual challengers like Winky Wright.

all I'm saying is that usually if a guy is the real deal he'll fight decent contenders in his own divison, no matter his age, but that's something Canelo has yet to do

At least GBP has way better under cards than TR. TR better put some big names on there undercard.
I don't like Chavez much either but Rubio and Lee are both top 10-15 guys at 160. Chavez is atleast fighting guys who actually fight at the weight he's champion. Canelo always fights smaller guys coming up or washed up guys. Chavez is taking a huge risk fighting Martinez because he might actually lose, when is the last time Canelo fought and you thought to yourself "he might lose." never

For a second there I thought you were describing Floyd mayweather when u said he fight washed up fighters and fighters coming up in weight lol.. I personally believe chavez Martinez is gonna sell more than Canelo Ortiz for one simple reason.. As soon as Canelo lands that one two its over on the other hand chavez and Martinez are gonna go to war. These two young lions are both good enough said they both have beat there competition and the opponents are all well ranked within the divisions

personally I'd rather watch Chavez vs Martinez, only because Chavez might have a chance at beating Martinez.

Canelo is all hype IMO. Canelo only fights washed up former champs like Mosley or fights smaller guys who have never fought at that weight like Hatton. all the Canelo fanboys will be pissed to hear that but it's true. I'd like to see Alvarez actually fight somebody ranked in his disivion, that'd be a start.
And Chavez Jr, besides Lee has fought top guys in his Stable or Ranks? Hell No he hasn't. Chavez and Alvarez both realisticly have Mexican back rounds in the career, which meansno amateur back round, all Pro, and fights small guys to build up thier record. I would say Alvarez has fought about the same level of competition, if anything Alvarez has had a slight edge of Chavez. Wins over Hatton, Rhodes, Cotto, Mosley, Gomez, and Cintron.

I agree, I think I would rather see the Martinez vs Chavez fight, but alot it depends on the card itself. If the Canelo vs Ortiz card is better I would rather watch that and keep an eye on the chavez-martinez fight. In terms of comparison I actually think Canelo has had the better opposition for his young age vs Chavez. Chavez has definitely taken the biggest fight of them both with Martinez. Chavez is taking a huge step but I gotta say that dude is not a natural middleweight lol..pretty sure he walks around at 190-195, so he definitely has a huge size advantage vs martinez.

My money won't be spent on Jcc Jr or Canelo, it will be spent on Martinez. If any fighter deserves a payday it's Sergio. He's the epitome of a fighter that usually puts on entertaining bouts, has a fan friendly style, and he's finished the last few fighters inside of 12 rounds. We have all become accustomed to watching him fight for free and I'd be fine with paying for one of his fights. An excellent test for Jcc Jr as well.

Nobody cares about Canela vs. Victoria.

HBO is already doing a 24/7 for JCC JR.

El Dinero de Vaca wins again.

I'm paying to see Martinez. But if I had to choose, id pay to see the humble red head fight over the ****y paper champ Jr.
