    JCC JR wins again.

If you count GBP, 47 have tried, 47 have failed.

What does reserving the date have anything to do with the MGM?

this is so fuccking ******... so typically of boxing. top rank and golden boy need to man the fuuck up, and work together to save this sport.
they work together, the sport gets better and they make more money, ultimately they should just merge companies and try to do what Lorenzo Fertitta and Dana White has done to mma, except less extreme, so boxers still have that potential to earn massive paychecks like oscar, floyd, manny, etc.... ultimately i think arum,schaeffer/oscar would make more money.

why reserve the date and not the venue? I'm pretty sure Toprank would prefer MGM grand to arena football venue if they had the option.

Yeah, it just don't make sense with them saying the Thomas and mack.
I actualy booked my trip to vegas for sept 15 awhile ago. I would go to Canelo vs Ortiz over Martinez vs Chavez because Top rank does not care about there overall card. Golden boy seems to care more. But if I was only paying for 1 fight, it would be Chavez Vs Martinez.

GBP has history with sept 15th also, they have had that date for the last 4 years. Don't know if that actualy means anything but yeah........

How do you know they wanted that venue?

but is that even a realistic option? I know HBO has done split card venues where they have coverage of different bouts from different venues

but how do able is the "joint ppv" idea?

if I'm not mistaken didn't HBO & Showtime join up to promote the Tyson-Lewis PPV bout

**hopefully something similar can be done here if neither party is willing to budge.

Wait Bob, didn't you give Floyd hell for reserving a May 5th date 5 months in advance and now you're saying you did the same thing for 09/15?

                    Odd..

them hosting the fights on different nights would make the most money, preferably a couple weeks apart.
a lot of people would buy one fight not that much more would be added by having both on one night, but if you had on 2 different nights, i am sure the majority of the people that bought the one fight would also buy the other.
but yes, essentially top rank/gbp would be losing a lot of buys by competing against each other.
both on same night, your maybe adding some extra buys, both on diff nights, your probably doubling your buys.
