Does anyone have any doubt even tho Hopkins is not a huge puncher he would have stopped Taylor just if he was able to land some combos instead of one punch at a time....he looked older you have to admit so what about him 5 yrs ago I think he would have stopped Taylor like he almost did in the first fight toward the end.

I will be in the minority when I say that the fight would shake down almost the exact same way!

Now I will give Hopkins the edge of course and I would pick him to win by a round or 2 instead of losing a close fight but he in my opinion is largley unchanged from the fighter he was five years ago.

Taylor may not be a great fighter but he fought the right fight. Had he of foguht Taylor five years ago he still would have respected the **** out of Taylor and he would not have gone after him at all.

This fight is still just as boring had it of taken place 5 years earlier for Hopkins-that is just the type of fighter he is against a dangerous opponent.

Prime for prime, I pick Taylor over Hopkins any day. I'm not saying Taylor is the all-around better fight, but his style will always beat Hopkins' style.

And what exactly do you base this on? Is it the fact that Taylor has never been in serious trouble during a fight? The fact that he is bigger, stronger, faster, and better than Hopkins? I'd love to see this from an idiot's point of you so enlighten us, please. EASILY KO TAYLOR you say? What the **** are you talking about?

Maybe SturmRules is assuming that because Hopkins' right hand never had Taylor hurt and that Taylor can take his best shots, that means Hopkins would definitely KO Taylor? Listen, you ignorant little jackass, the last thing to leave a fighter is his punch. If Hopkins couldn't do any significant damage to Taylor now when he landed clean what makes you think 5 years ago makes a difference? Taylor has never been down or hurt in a ****ing fight. Say Hopkins would outpoint him if you want, but don't say Hopkins would easily KO him because that exposes you as the ****ing moron you are.

Well Hopkins did have him clearly hurt on more than one occasion in the first fight and if he were able to throw combos like he could have years earlier before his age caught up to him I believe he would I won't say easily but handily TKOed Taylor.......Taylor stands straight up once he gets hurt or stunned and would/will be dropped when he meets a guy who can put a few combos together on him like Lacy.

Hopkins stunned him. Wow. I find that hard to believe considering it was Taylor's FIRST BIG FIGHT, not to mention he took a nasty headbutt that changed the entire fight around. 5 years ago, if Hopkins lands 2 or 3 clean headbutts and maybe rams his elbow into Taylor's neck a few times, MAYBE Hopkins KO's him in the championship rounds. MAYBE.

Was Taylor hurt in the first fight?

Im not disagreeing but I also think you can make the case that he was just flat out exhausted. In fact I think he was more exhausted then he ever was hurt.

Exhausted or hurt is doesnt matter...he was ready to be had in the first fight and Hopkins for whatever reason refused to go WIN the fight-I will be asking WHY for a long long time just as I have asked WHY he never gave more of an effort down the stretch against Jones when he knew and everyone knew he was going to lose the fight on points.

                    But I digress...
