Canelo tried to fight Paul Williams and James Kirkland, and is now fighting Victor Ortiz. I think matchups with Shane Mosley, Alfonso Gomez, Matthew Hatton, had mroe to do with GBP than anything.

This, along with a decent/solid win over Ryan Rhodes and an alright win over Cintron, is Canelo's first real big fight and test.

I've gained a great deal of respect for Canelo throughout this process. He has been trying hard to get a quality opponent for this next fight. PW was going to be a war, and this will be one as well. Potential fight of the year candidate.
