  • Who could Mayweather have beaten to "prove" his greatness to naysayers?

At 130 and 135 he beat the best guys their.....at 140 Kostya Tszyu lost his title to Ricky Hatton the same year Floyd beat Gatti....Floyd went on to beat Hatton at 147 after Hatton's team said he wasnt ready yet at 140....

at 147 people claim he ducked Paul Williams and Margarito, but really how is it ducking someone when you are making more money and fighting for the real world title?

Against Baldomir and beating the previous champion in Judah and has the best resume out of any active Welterweight with wins over Judah, Baldomir, Ortiz, Mosley, Marquez, Hatton, and Mitchell....beating two champions mean alot more than beating to contenders, also all risk no reward....

at 154 he beat the number one guy at the weight twice....ODLH and Cotto were the top rated junior middleweights when he fought them

    My Picks:

    1) Manny Pacquiao: the fight still is a possibility but if Bradley beats Pacquaio chances are the fight wont happen. His closest "percieved" rival

    2) Kostya Tszyu: Would have been a great name on his resume but if he had fought him in 2004-2005 and beat him convincingly they'd have just said he was shot or made an excuse

    3) Prime Mosley at 135....politics and Mosley chasing ODLH stopped this great match up from happening

at this point outside of beating Martinez at middleweight for the title their isnt nothing left that would prove his greatness or add to his resume

Even if he beat Pacquiao there would be some excuse. Its just the way it is with someone that talks as much **** as Mayweather does.

I just think some people jus refuse to recognize what he has done and his accomplishments because he can be a prick. I hate to use to race card but that also his arrogance with the way Mayweather carry's himself people want him to fail or will ignore his accomplishments, same way people did Allen Iverson when he was the man in the NBA

When he was a young humble champion he wasnt being recognized, for his accomplishments or praised, it didnt serve him well

Might as well be an ******* and get paid alot more for people to love to hate you. Being Humble and smiling all the time wasnt working

true he always felt like arum should have made him a star

skill wise he deserves to be up there and people have also crtizised the way he fights as well as the opponents

funny enough his last two fights have been pretty entertaining

i think floyd has earned the right to be crowned p4p but to me he isn't better than say a ray leonard or even roy jones jr for that matter

defensive genius yes but he has hand picked opponents and caught guys at the tail end of ther careers there is no doubt about that imo

Nobody, haters gon hate. Floyd has proven his greatness but of course there are guys everyone would have liked to see him fight like Morales, Barrera and Kostya Tszyu but without fighting these guys Floyd has still proven his greatness and to the haters it doesn't matter who he fights because they will always say what about this or that guy.

                kostya tszyu @ 140 instead of brusseles/gatti, prime-ish mosley @147, margarito/cotto @ 147, pacquiao @ 147

Look you can argue all day about he should have fought this guy or that guy but look when it's all said and done Floyd is gonna be remembered as one of the greatest fighters ever so it really don't matter..

Where you rank him amongst the other greats it is all OPINION! There's no official list of who's the greatest of all time.

But Floyd is clearly one of the best to ever do it period!

People will always look at undefeated fighters with ideas that they are somehow untested or unproven Floyd is just a terrific fighter its just ******ed Manny fans and that also goes the other way with ******ed Floyd fans
