It's not about being Latin...Puerto Rican...Mexico-Puerto Rico rivalry that has been going on decades. They can sell that rivalry on a Mexican Independence Day weekend, against Mexico next big thing.

There is no Mexico-Cuba rivarly, there isn't a Mexico-Colombia rivalry.

I'm not saying I want this fight. I'm not saying it's a fight that should happen. But, I'm looking at a fight they can sell as PPV event...They can't sell Quintana but they can sell that rivalry that Mexico next big thing will participate in.



It doesn't matter if Larga is an option or if he is considered because it go nowhere. He is not getting the fight period.

Instead of coming up with ideas for GBP or advocating an inevitable fight with Quintana, shouldn't fans be screaming foul?

That's what got us that crappy Mosley-Canelo fight last month.

GBP/Top Rank give the fans whatever they want and NSB comes up with reasons it makes "business sense", like what you're doing now.

I don't think that rivalry angle sells with past prime fighters that Puerto Ricans don't even support. The PR vs MX angle relies on Puerto Ricans also buying the the PPV. And Puerto Ricans stopped caring about Quintana a long time ago, if they ever did in the first place. And Mexicans won't neccessarly care either just because a Puerto Rican is involved. For example, the Cintron vs Canelo fight bombed in Mexico. There was only 4k in attendance when they were giving away 2 tickets for the price of 1.

Cintron was coming off a lackluster performance and Canelo hadn't beaten someone like Moley as shot he maybe. Still a name that people saw on the biggest PPV of the year. Same card Quintana scored a KO. It can sell...All they need to do is sell like around 250k to make a profit. 300k+ will be impressive...When I'm talking about what sells. I'm not talking about a Cotto like numbers. He will not do that Cotto like numbers no matter who he fights unless it's Cotto.
