Pavlik's a well known name - a fight that would sell well both sides on the pond.

Good money fight for Froch before Kessler - makes sense.

Already plenty of needle and both guys won't take a backward step, so would be entertaining for as long as it lasts.

if pavlik can get a decent win or two under his belt i'd love to see him get a crack at froch. that's a great fight on paper.

froch would box his doors off at this stage, but it would be awesome to see given froch's physical tools.

if he can't, kelly's still got that right hand. if froch cant get out of the way of that thing it can seriously hurt him.

in terms of pure power punching (hitting a mitt or a bag, discounting the speed, timing, and craft needed to set a shot up,) i think pavlik hits at least as hard as bute.

froch took a bit of bute's gas. bute was knocking out guys who were not world class. i think i've overrated his power a bit myself. it's certainly there, but perhaps not to the degree i thought it was.

I doubt Froch would fight Pavlik at this stage of his career, I'd say he's got about 3 more fights left in him before retirement. But you never know.

i was there and very close to the ring.

froch had won rounds and certainly was doing damage, but he was behind. people who were with taylor were calling for him to take a knee because he was ahead.

Pavlik doesn't realize when you back out of a fight with a major network like HBO or Showtime, people don't trust you anymore. Now he is stuck on lessor known networks. He made his bed....just like Gamboa.

Pavlik needs a credible win which he hasn't had for a long time...beating no names won't get him his desired $$ bout...Bute & Froch would win vs KP w/out much trble...

It's funny how ppl are all over this fight and how things worked out! Pavlik is a drunk and a shamble's and hasn't fought anyone since getting schooled by an argentinian WW.. when froch fought taylor it was 'who's froch? Pavlik was the big thing having had those 2 wins over taylor and edison miranda (who incidentally was anihilated by lucian bute)...

Now kelly is known as that substance abuser who got schooled by popkins and froch is one of the biggest names in boxing....kelly u have no right to a shot at carl you have done nothing for years! HBO will be all over this fight though unlike froch v bute lol

Froch will have too much strength for Pavlik mark my words. Froch also would give Pavlik problems if he flurried on him the way that he did with Lucian Bute last Saturday night.

Pavlik has always been a jab-jab-jab, left-right combination type of fighter. He doesn’t typically throw flurries like Froch, and he might be overpowered or overwhelmed by Froch if he chooses to unload on Pavlik in a sustained manner. Pavlik at this stage of his career will likely be in a world of hurt against Froch (it will most likely be in nottingham too which will add to kellys problems) ...

It’s still a very good fight and hopefully Froch considers this as an option for him.

However pavliks promoter wants to ultimately match Pavlik up against WBC middleweight champion Julio Cedar Chavez Jr. in a Top Rank in house fight i think this would be a safer option for him.

People act like carl got lucky ffs! lol Taylor got battered...we all saw what abraham did to him too!

I love the myth that taylor schooled him....the press row scores were split down the middle, some having froch up going into the last some having taylor! Watch it again, no one in press row had it by more than two points to either man which would have meant if taylor had taken a knee and not got stopped all of press row would have scored it to froch because of the two knockdowns (assuming taylor dropped to a knee during the final barrage which would have been the second knockdown of the round)

I think i had had it exactly level with taylor evening it out with the knockdown the judges scores were bull**** and as much as i love JT im glad froch got the stoppage cos the judges would have robbed him in a way!

So lets be clear folks, froch wasn't getting schooled, that's a lazy term that gets slung about far to easy IMO. Froch started extremely slow. I don't think he adapted to speed well nor did the fact he hardly warmed up help. He slowly got into the fight and started to break Taylor down with crushing right hands that digged hard enough to break his will plus applying steady pressure to force him to fight and gas. Then finished him brilliantly stalking his prey and taking him out.

I had the fight close with Froch getting momentum around the 4th or 5th and putting rounds together. Yeah carl was really the loser that night lol....

Do you think taylor would have won had they met again in the super six? I don't...

It was a very close fight but, ultimately, Froch's gameplan worked. It's time froch got the credit he deserves for this win considering no one favoured him and he finished in awesome style (hands down by his waist, stalking taylor and bombing him out...cool as f**k!!) I love this fight...i can watch it again and again and that KD by taylor was beautiful too!

If Froch wants a warm up in between then this is a good fight.

Main reason is people will pay to see it - it garners interest both sides of the pond. Both are warriors - it sells v well.

Froch wants to make as much money as possible before he retires - pavlik before Kessler will mean a lot more £ in his bank than just Kessler alone.

I agree with you. I believe Pavlik has a great chance against any Super middle weight that he can hit. To include just about everyone besides Ward and Direll.
