When he beat Margarito I thought he would be untouchable for years at 147. Too bad no welters wanted to fight him.

I'm hoping for the best. he was a true warrior in the ring, always coming forward, always punching ,never stops.

P-Willy, I hate it had to be you. You were a great champ inside the ring, you're an even bigger champ outside the ring. I pray for your health, thanks for the memories!!

Paul is trending on google, its nice to see people take notice. I can't help but feel a little selfish, there were still several fights I wanted to see him in and that bums me out. But more importantly, he's alive and he'll be available for his family. Thanks Pwill, you were always fun to watch.

ill appreciate him til the day I die, it was paul who turned me onto boxing, I always watched here and there but it wasnt til i flipped on hbo on demand one sunday afternoon and saw paul williams vs sharmba mitchell... i knew absolutely nothing about boxing and its history.. I was absolutely floored by his sick height for being a WW and max kellerman praising him as the next thomas hearns, who at the time never knew who was. I immediately got on the pc and came across this website and started downloading fights. I then learned who floyd, cotto, margarito, and the other welterweights were. I couldnt get enough of the punisher and his fights... i would get on here and talk about him all the time and people would laugh and complain that he was too green ...Im now a diehard boxing fanatic and I thank you Paul Williams for showing me an amazing sport i never knew existed.... Love you buddy and God Bless you and your family... you will always be one of my favorites of all time

i feel ya buddy, my worst moment as a boxing fan... I'll never forget the margarito drama before their fight and margarito finally growing a pair and facing his mandatory.... the punisher became a star that night and his first fight with sergio was epic... i dont care what anyone says but paul clearly won that fight and the hate was unnecessary....

No doubt yesterday was my saddest day as a boxing fan. Paul was my favorite fighter, and I have been so excited about this upcoming fight with Canelo. Brought me to tears last night when I heard the news and I'm still heartbroken.
